Flatiron Cornhole: Sales

The bulk of sales are currently done through our web sites flatironcornhole.com and surefirecornbags.com and through Amazon and eBay.

Main web site: flatironcornhole.com

Web site: surefirecornbags.com

The web site for Surefire Cornbags is separate so that bags can be promoted in isolation of boards. The bags market is somewhat independent. The majority of players make their own boards, but prefer not to make bags.

Web site: sturdyup.com

The sturdyup.com web site has been discontinued and sales of tally towers has been scaled back. Below is a previous incarnation of the web site.

Below is another incarnation of the now defunct sturdyup.com web site, later folded into the main web site. This one shows a number of different models and options.

Amazon

Surefire Cornbags including Traditional, Pro, Cornless, and XXL Premium Cornless, Stars and Stripes, and Camo are sold on Amazon, as are Sturdy-Up Tally Towers, and Key Chains.

EBay

All of the products sold on Amazon were sold on EBay for a time. However most of those have been discontinued. EBay did not promote them aggressively, and the competition was priced too low for advertising to be worthwhile.

Craigs List

Craig’s list is effective at reaching local players and board makers. It is very price-sensitive but this ad has been successful. Flatiron sells to most of the local board makers who cannot otherwise get a reliable supplier and a proper assortment of colors on hand. It’s not very profitable, but it’s good for relations.

AZ Baggers

AZ Baggers (azbaggers.com) was a site devoted to organizing Arizona tournament players. At its height it had over 500 players registered and was THE source for announcing and promoting tournaments and other bags events in Arizona. It helped promote sales but it was mostly a free source for announcements.

Tempe Area Cornhole Organization a.k.a. TACO

The Tempe Area Cornhole Organization was the very first cornhole promotional and organizational web portal for players. It combined what were then a dozen or so separate mailing lists into a single unified players organization that promoted the game and events. It eventually morphed into the broader AZ Baggers organization.

Direct sales and promotions at local events

Flatiron ran tournaments, and promoted products at large gatherings and local and regional events. This proved good for promotional purposes, but it inadvertently stepped on the toes of a number of mom and pop outfits that used those events to sell much lower quality home made bags. I decided to leave that tiny unprofitable sales channel alone after my losses in theft and vandalism went through the roof.

Bars

Flatiron boards and bags have been in use at bars, clubs, and resorts throughout the Phoenix area. Customers include Phillys, Majerles, Four Peaks, The Yard, The Hub, Jolies, Jerseys, Temple Bar, Wolfley’s, Margaritaville, Bad Mother Cluckers, and dozens of others.
